Athletics Program The Team Parent at St. Margaret Mary's is an important component of the Athletic Program. There are 3 major areas of responsibility for the Team Parent: 1 . Concession Volunteer Coordinator The Team Parent is responsible for contacting and scheduling the help of the other parents of the children on their team to serve a share of the concession stand staffing for their child's Home Games. All parents are strongly encouraged to participate in their child's activities and the program in this way. 2. Assist Coaches in Spreading Team Information Regarding Practice or Game Scheduling If needed the Team Parent will be able to assist the Coaches by contacting families when there are scheduling changes. The Team Parent may also be asked to inform the Coaches when unusual scheduling changes occur. Additionally the Team Parent will act as the coordinating resource for other families helping to insure that all players have safe (not overcrowded! ! ) transportation to Away Games. 3. Supervise Uniform Distribution and Collection The cost of uniforms for the program is quite high. The Team Parent is asked to participate in the distribution of uniforms to the individual players on the night scheduled by the Coach, and to make and keep a list of the uniform numbers and items received by each player. At the end of the Basketball Season the Coach and Team Parent will together schedule a Date and Time for the return of these uniforms. If needed the Team Parent will contact those families who have not returned their uniforms to insure that they are collected. The uniforms will be required to be returned within two weeks of a Team's final game. |
